The Zurich Classic of New Orleans

The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is the PGA TOUR’s only FedExCup team event –and this year marks Zurich’s 20th year as the title sponsor. Through this partnership, the Zurich Classic has become more than a golf tournament—it’s a catalyst for positive change in New Orleans. Today, this enduring collaboration exemplifies the power of teamwork, helping the city build resilience for generations to come so it can meet tomorrow prepared. Join along in our coverage as some of the world’s top golfers pair up in the Big Easy to compete for an event-record purse of $8.9 million. The Zurich Classic tournament will take place April 25-28, 2024.

Look back on 20 years of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans

    2005 –2006: Zurich becomes the newest title sponsor for the New Orleans–based PGA TOUR tournament. The Zurich Classic is the first nationally televised professional sporting event to return to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. The event generates $250,000 in seed money for a $280 million mixed-income residential community, serving 685 families on the site of a former housing development that Hurricane Katrina destroyed.

Collin Morikawa

Joining the ambassador team in 2020, Collin has since proven himself as one of the top players on the PGA TOUR. In 2023, Collin captured his sixth PGA TOUR title winning the ZOZO Championship alongside 7 top-10 finishes bringing his career total to 34. Collin is a two-time Major Champion winning the 2020 PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park and the 2021 Open Championship at Royal St. Georges becoming one of only eight players to win multiple major championships before the age of 25. In 2023, he also made his Netflix debut starring alongside Tony Finau in an episode of the hit Netflix series Full Swing. In 2025, Collin is set to compete in the new TGL Golf League alongside teammates Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood for the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC). Collin wears the Zurich logo on his left sleeve.

Sahith Theegala

Sahith Theegala was named a Zurich Golf Ambassador in January of 2023 and has had an impressive start to his professional career. Sahith made his professional debut in 2020 playing on both the PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour in a total of 24 events. In 2023, Sahith captured his first PGA TOUR victory, winning the 2023 Fortinet Championship and had 8 top-10 finishes bringing his career total to 15. In 2025, Sahith is set to compete in the new TGL Golf League alongside teammates Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood for the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC). Sahith wears the Zurich logo on his left sleeve.

Albane Valenzuela

Albane joined the Zurich Golf Ambassador roster in January of 2023 and is a strong representative of the LPGA Tour. Albane’s career began at 17 years old where she made an appearance in 2015 at the Evian Championship. She is a graduate of Stanford University, where she was member of the women’s golf team and named 2019 Pac-12 Golfer of the Year. In 2020, Albane earned her full-time LPGA card and placed 5th at 2021 Drive On Championship. She is a 2-time Olympian representing team Switzerland in the 2016 and 2021 Games, most recently finishing T-18th in Tokyo. In 2023, she had 3 top-10 finishes bringing her career total to 5. Albane wears the Zurich logo on the front of her hat. Albane’s game has been strong in 2024, reflected by her second place finish at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

Billy Horschel

A Zurich Golf Ambassador since 2013, Billy Horschel is a seven-time PGA TOUR winner. Zurich is especially proud of Billy’s success at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans where he won as an individual in 2013 and as part of a team in 2018. Other career highlights include 57 career top-10 finishes, member of the 2022 Presidents Cup team and one international win. In 2021, Billy became just the second American, after Arnold Palmer, to win the European Tour’s BMW PGA Championship. In 2025, Billy is set to compete in the new TGL Golf League alongside teammates Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay and Lucas Glover for Atlanta Drive GC. Billy wears the Zurich logo on his left sleeve.
